About Me

BenProfessionalHello, my name is Ben Kolde. I am a student at a regional location of Miami University-Ohio on the track to study marketing at one of the top business schools in the country. I want to work in the golf industry, so Bogeyface is my outlet to do so. Now, some of you reading this might be wondering, what is Bogeyface Golf? Bogeyface is a look into my life through golf and I will be sharing it with all of you.

I started playing golf when I was young like most kids, the problem was that I never really got into it and I was never good. So I quit and played basketball instead. I played organized basketball up until 4 years ago when one of my best friends told me I should come out for the golf team. I looked at him like he had two heads. I hadn’t played golf in years and when I did I was HORRIBLE. But the more I thought about the idea the more I liked it. I was already getting fed up with the basketball coaches at the time so I decided to give it a go. Lets fast forward to my senior year of high school, I was looking to play golf in college. I didn’t know anything about the recruiting process so I was overlooked by everyone. So when I picked my school, Miami University-Hamilton, a regional campus, I knew I had to contact the coach. So I sent him my resume with my wins and accomplishments and he replied and said he’d love to have me. I went out and played with the guys a couple of times and I had a blast. It was definitely the right fit for me.

I believe that I have what it takes to make it anywhere I want in golf because of my constant drive to improve. In the four years that I have played golf, I took my handicap from a 25+ all the way down to a 2.5 (Which is where I’m at currently.) I have played in a lot of local tournaments in the past, won a couple small ones, but plan to fill my schedule with bigger tournaments now. I am about to enter the spring semester of my first year, start my first season of golf, and begin a blog about my journey through my career path in golf, all while delivering the best content to all my readers. Bogeyface isn’t about being negative after hitting bad shots, in golf and life. What Bogeyface means is buckling down, it’s the intense focus you get after hitting a rough patch. Bogeyface is how well you pick yourself up and comeback with a string of birdies. So, join me on my journey and get your Bogeyfaces on.
